Card Condition in Dex

Dex does not support tracking card condition yet. While it’s something we’re aware of, we don’t have concrete plans for it at the moment. For now, we recommend using Card Notes to record condition details.

Notion image

Dex currently does not include dedicated fields for tracking the physical condition of your raw cards. This means you cannot yet categorize cards as:

  • Mint / Near Mint
  • Lightly Played / Moderately Played / Heavily Played
  • Damaged
  • Or any other condition-based classification

Dex focuses today on card identity, variants, quantities, and average prices, not condition states.

What’s Planned

Card condition is something we know many collectors care about, but we don’t have a defined or scheduled plan for implementing it yet. Introducing condition tracking brings several challenges. Because of this, we want to ensure that when we build condition support, it’s done thoughtfully and integrates cleanly with the rest of Dex.

What You Can Do Now

While full condition tracking isn’t available, Dex’s Card Notes feature is the best current solution. You can use Card Notes to record details such as:

  • The condition of your copy
  • Any damage (scratches, whitening, dents, creases, etc.)
  • Purchase details
  • Trade history
  • Anything else relevant to your copy of the card

It’s flexible, searchable, and tied directly to each individual card entry and variant.

We’re aware of how valuable condition tracking would be, and it’s something we’ll continue to consider for future updates.
