Supported Card Sets in Dex

Learn which card sets Dex supports and why some cards are not included.

Dex exclusively supports cards from the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) published by The Pokémon Company. No other Pokémon card products are included in the Dex catalog.

What Regions Does Dex Cover?

Dex organizes cards into three regions:

  • International: Cards printed in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, and more
  • Japan: Cards printed in Japanese
  • China: Cards printed in Simplified Chinese

Each region contains its own series and expansions, and includes every card published as part of those sets.

What Is NOT Included?

Dex does not include cards from non-TCG Pokémon card products. This means you will not find:

  • Pokémon Topps cards (produced by Topps, not part of the TCG)
  • Bandai Pokémon Carddass (a separate Japanese card series by Bandai)
  • Burger King PokéTrivia cards (promotional fast food cards)
  • Meiji Movie cards (Japanese promotional dairy product cards)
  • Any other non-TCG Pokémon cards or stickers

These products, while featuring Pokémon artwork, are entirely separate from the Pokémon TCG and use different formats, numbering, and production standards.

Why Are Some TCG Cards Missing?

Dex includes a wide range of TCG cards, including Jumbo cards, Celebrations, and other special releases that are not designed for competitive play. However, Dex requires cards to share the standard traits found on most TCG cards (such as a set number, rarity, and variant classification).

A notable example is Vending Machine Series 3 (also known as the Green sheet). While the first two Vending Machine series contain standard TCG cards, a large portion of the Series 3 cards are glossary or informational cards that lack these standard traits. These cards are not included in the Dex catalog.
