The Scanner is the fastest way to add cards to your collection. Just point your camera at a card, and Dex will instantly recognise it and show all its details, including expansion, rarity, and price data.
Whether you're logging a new pack or digitising your entire binder, the Scanner saves you time while keeping your collection accurate.
How to Use the Scanner
- Open the Scanner from the app.
- Point your camera at the card you want to scan.
- Dex will recognise the card and display its results.
- If needed, narrow the results down by rarity, expansion, or other filters to find the exact match.
- Once you're done scanning, use the overview screen to review everything you've scanned and specify which variants should be added to your collection.
You can also trigger the Scanner by shaking your device or by adding it as a Quick Action to your iPhone's Action Button. If you'd rather disable shake to scan, you can toggle it off in your settings.
Scanning Tip: Sort by Variant First
When opening a booster box or working through a large stack of cards, sorting them by variant before scanning can save you a lot of time. For example, separate your default variants, reverse holos, and any other variants into their own piles. Scan each group one at a time, and in the overview screen you can quickly assign the correct variant to the entire batch at once instead of picking variants card by card.
Good to Know
- The Scanner is a Dex+ feature.
- For best results, make sure the card is well lit and fully visible in the frame.
