Binder Display Mode

Learn how to view your cards in a virtual binder with customizable pages and pockets.

What Is Binder Display Mode?

Binder Display Mode is an alternative way to view your cards that simulates a physical card binder. Instead of scrolling through cards in a grid or list, your cards are organized into pages with a fixed number of pockets, just like a real trading card album. You can flip through pages one at a time to browse your collection.

On wider screens (tablets and web), the binder shows two pages side by side as a spread, with a cover page featuring the set logo or Pokémon artwork. On phones, one page is shown at a time with a small icon indicating whether the current page would be on the left or right side of an open binder.

Empty pockets appear as faint placeholder slots, making it easy to see which cards are missing from your collection.

Where Can You Use It?

Binder Display Mode is available when viewing an Expansion (set) or a Pokémon page. It is not available on the Collection overview, Search, Folders, or Dashboard screens.

How to Enable Binder Mode

  1. Open any Expansion or Pokémon page.
  1. Tap the Display Mode button in the toolbar (the same button you use to switch between Grid and List).
  1. A menu will appear with three options: Grid, List, and Binder.
  1. Select Binder to enter Binder Display Mode.

Your choice is saved individually for each Expansion or Pokémon, so you can use Binder mode for some sets and Grid or List for others.

Navigating Pages

There are several ways to move between pages in Binder mode:

  • Swipe left or right to flip to the next or previous page.
  • Use the navigation arrows in the toolbar to jump to the first page, previous page, next page, or last page.
  • Tap the page indicator (e.g., "Page 3" or "Pages 2 - 3") to open a page picker and jump directly to any page.
  • On web, use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to turn pages.

Tapping on Cards

Tapping a card in a binder pocket opens the card detail view, just like in Grid or List mode. Double tapping a card toggles its ownership status.

ℹ️

Multi-select is not available while Binder mode is active. Switch back to Grid or List if you need to select multiple cards at once.

Customization Options

When Binder mode is active, additional options appear in the toolbar.

Pockets Per Page

Choose how many card slots appear on each page. Tap the Pockets button to select from:

  • 4 Pockets (2x2 grid)
  • 9 Pockets (3x3 grid, default)
  • 12 Pockets (4x3 grid)
  • 16 Pockets (4x4 grid)
💡

12 and 16 pocket layouts work best on larger screens. On phones, you'll see a suggestion to try a bigger screen for the best experience.

Skip First Page

Toggle this option to control where your cards begin:

  • Start on First Page (default): The binder opens with the cover and page 1, just like opening a real binder.
  • Skip First Page: Hides the cover and page 1, starting your cards on page 2. This is useful if you want to match a physical binder where the first page is left empty or used for something else.

Stack / Split Variants

This controls how card variants (such as holofoil or reverse holo versions) are displayed:

  • Stack Variants: Groups all variants of the same card into a single pocket.
  • Split Variants: Shows each variant in its own separate pocket.

This setting is saved individually per Expansion or Pokémon while using Binder mode.
